Who we are

Quaternary Games is operated by Quaternary Consulting. We make daily word games available at games.quaternary.co. For data requests or questions, contact us at hello@quaternary.co.

What we collect and why

Essential — always active

  • An anonymous or account-linked user ID (via Firebase Authentication)
  • Your game statistics: puzzles played, streaks, scores
  • Today's in-progress game state, so you can resume if you close the tab

This data is required for the service to work. We do not use it for advertising.

Analytics — only with your consent

  • Page views and session data via Google Analytics 4
  • IP addresses are anonymised before storage

We use this to understand how people play and where to improve. You can decline this at any time.

How data is stored

Game data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication), hosted in the EU where possible. Google acts as our data processor under a standard Data Processing Agreement. See Firebase's privacy documentation.

Auth tokens are stored in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels beyond Google Analytics.

How long we keep it

Game statistics are retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed within 30 days. Anonymous guest sessions are retained for 90 days of inactivity.

Your rights

Under GDPR and the Swiss nFADP you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw analytics consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
